UI/UX Designer: role and responsibilities

An interface designer (UI/UX Designer) explores user needs and delivers clear web and mobile interfaces. It is a core IT-team role centered on analysis, visual language, and prototyping; coding skills are not mandatory.

What you will cover in the UX/UI design course

  • Web Design in Figma: hands-on layouts, grids, typography; training projects such as a landing page and a corporate website.
  • UI and UX Design: basic research, user flows, prototypes, design systems, and responsive design across breakpoints.
  • Mobile Design: iOS/Android patterns, components, states, and navigation; development of several dozen screens.
  • Soft Skills for UI/UX: team communication, presenting decisions, English for designers, and career tools.

Who the UI/UX Designer path fits, and who it does not

Suitable for aspiring interface designers

  • Beginners without coding background aiming at UX/UI.
  • Graphic designers transitioning to product design.
  • Managers/marketers who need UX process understanding.
  • Students from adjacent IT domains.

Not suitable for

  • Those expecting programming instead of interface design.
  • Those seeking instant outcomes without practice and iteration.
  • Those unwilling to work with feedback and versioning.

Problem → approach in UI/UX Design

  • Chaotic screens → design system setup (components, variants, tokens).
  • Unclear user journey → user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Poor responsiveness → responsive grids, breakpoints, and content prioritization.
  • Weak handoff → Figma specs, auto layout, and developer-ready documentation.

Comparison with alternatives in UX/UI

  • Self-learning: freedom and flexibility, yet harder to keep structure and receive systematic feedback.
  • Graphic design courses: strong visuals, but limited focus on user flows and testing.
  • Coding courses instead of UI/UX: build technical skills, but the focus is not on user experience and interfaces.

Expected outcomes after course work for a UI/UX Designer

  • Practical command of Figma: components, auto layout, prototypes.
  • Understanding of UX process: goals, scenarios, information architecture.
  • UI patterns for web and mobile, including responsive design.
  • Basic handoff and communication with developers and product teams.
  • A set of training cases suitable for a portfolio (e.g., Behance).
